Why I built this website

I’m Ben, an ordinary lad from Yorkshire with a deep curiosity about how systems work, and a passion for simplifying complex things, and sharing what I learn.
This is my confused, frustrated, but otherwise ‘ready to go again’ face in 2022. I'd lost half of a £20k ‘investment’ on risky individual stocks with very little preparation. I'd actually lost it in 2021 and just sat doing absolutely nothing for over a year, dumbfounded.*
I finally decided to get involved again in 2022, but this time I committed to doing the proper research before making more decisions, instead of just trying to ‘vibe’ my way to financial freedom.
This led me into a bit of a research obsession which spilled over into other subjects, and the more I researched, the more I began to realise that these subjects are not only related, but they shape each other in ways that most people don't realise.
This website is my attempt to gather what I’ve learned and share it in a way that’s practical, honest, and useful to help ordinary people like me, make better decisions.

*Fast forward to today (2026): my portfolio is approaching six figures and is worth almost double what I've invested. So thankfully, I did eventually figure a few things out in the end…
